Global Psychedelic Trance 8
Various Artists
We’re all simple people at the end of the day. We love the progressive side, and the minimal stuff, and the no-holds-barred techno trance fusion. But there will always be a place in our hearts, and on our CD shelves, for full on mayhem like this.
Spirit Zone’s 8th instalment in the acclaimed Global Psychedelic Trance series follows in the well-tested format – one CD dancefloor, one CD chilled – and while the surprise quotient is a little low, the effectiveness, ballsiness and quality levels are all sky high. Boogie your socks off to stormers from GMS (At The End Of The Rainbow), Electric Universe (Embrace It), Space Tribe (Kickin’ Up Some Dust) and Talamasca (Sage Incense) and revel in the glory of Bamboo Forest’s wonderful Friends.
And just when the pictures are shaking off the walls of your flat, and your feet can’t handle it any more, the sublime and intricate 2nd CD has plenty of karma-friendly psychedelic chill to sit back and have a spliff to.
And, like I said, we’re simple people: this is bread and butter for the psychedelic nutters out there, having the balls and energy on the first CD, and the smooth dubby shenanigans on the second. If you’re only buying one trance CD this summer, it might as well be this.
