Weighing in at over ten minutes, Peaking Polka is a building, semi-minimal affair. Cute halfmelodies build up and maintain the tension in that linear way POTS are so smooth at doing.
Ultimately though it’s neither a polka nor is it peaking, and as such it’s a slight disappointment.
Butter For My Cup of Tea is again in keeping with their lushly produced progressive sound, having more structure than the A side. Some sweet pads come in to warm things up a treat, and there’s enough melody and groove here to please progressive and psychedelic dancefloors.
Both tunes sit nicely in the mix, and that breath-of-fresh-air that Prisoners of the Sun make their own is a worthy addition to any DJ’s box.
