Girl FX / Move – Transient

Taken from Transient 9: Regeneration (reviewed next week), Girl FX is a progressive twister with the key resting on spaces between the sounds.

Layered like a psycho-dub tune, it’s sparse and immaculately produced, moving forward with tight percussion and semi-psychedelic stabs adding texture. Quite a low BPM, it’s a slinky, schmoozin’ tune in keeping with Transient’s recent output.

Meanwhile on the flip, Move has a housier feel with busy percussion and a cute understated bassline. Good couple of tunes that will fit more with the progressive crowd than the psychedelic.
