Etic Touchups Trancelucent (Israel)

Hmmm. Difficult to know what to say about this. It's a new proggy offering from Israel. And the thing is it just doesn't evoke much of a reaction from me. It's ok. That's the best that I can say. It does what it does quite competently, nothing more and nothing less. It's perfectly adequate trance, and something that would most certainly have us all groving in the sun very nicely indeed thank you very much. But it doesn't spark. It lacks that certain something. And the samples in the first tune piss me off. They really do. The whole album is full of nice tunes, but nothing that you will remember after they have finished. Which is a shame because Etay really sounds like he knows what he is doing. The space in the sound is great and while the tu nes are playing they have a really fantastic groove to them. Which is probably enough. Yup.
