Best described as a HomMega tortilla accompanied by some crunchy munchy YoYo tacos, Generations is a 2 CD set that collects together some recent, and not so recent, offerings form the mighty Israeli labels. And what a collection: it’s times like these, when it’s bang-bang-bang with killer after killer smacking you upside the face with various species of fish, that the power and danceability of Israeli trance gets all the more apparent. You get Infected’s Bust A Move, Space Cat’s Snorkel Blaster, The Fly from Cat on Mushrom, Cosma’s Find Out, and Dark Soho’s Depth of Emotion as highlights from the YoYo disc... dust that off with the HomMega selection with PsyCraft’s Dream On, Xerox & Passenger’s Science is God, Psy Sex’s Bionic Bong and Astrix & Atomic Pulse’s Optical Vibes and it all adds up to a pretty mean collection. Which at the end of the day leaves one with little choice other than to conclude that any collection offering that many belters just HAS to be checked out.
