Entheogenic - 3D Vision

The idea of a downtempo album on 3D Vision might have you expecting a punchline – but this is no joke. The French label most well known for its outdoor party madness anthems (which even make the trees pick up their roots and dance all night) has kickstarted a new imprint, 3D Vision Relax, in utter utter style with this instantly loveable album. Entheogenic are Piers Oak-Rhind and Helmut Glavar, a duo based in France who admit to having the odd strange (shamanic) experience in the French countryside.All of which is evident on this album. The music ranges from very chilled to very trippy and chilled, characterised by perhaps more traditional trancey elements than a lot of other similar projects. Arpeggios run up and down all over the place, with filters guiding the wonderful addictive sound runs all over the room (in other words, it sounds brilliant when you’re stoned. Okay?) Dubby undercurrents, tribal chant vocals, lush pads and yes MORE fantastic stoned arpeggio runs all make for a delightful listening experience, and there are elements of Shpongle in the ways that the tracks unfold into a very psychedelic, very visual, very fluid set of patterns. It’s got all the magic of strange and trippy plants, more surprises than a field full of mushrooms and you will love it more than... than the same field of mushrooms. It’s like there’s a party in your third eye, and everyone’s invited.
