Id be surprising nobody if I said that chillout compilations are a dime a dozen; that a new chillout comp is (by definition) unlikely to get pulses racing; and that theyre made up of all the same tunes anyway (or as near as makes no difference). But Floatation is different its more like a chilled manifesto for a more peaceful, stoned planet and I cant recall a more well-conceived, better laid out, nicely produced and effective chilled album as this. From the sounds of it, the Interchill could in fact have a global mission to raise consciousness though chilling. And on the strength of the tunes on offer here I wont stand in their way. Featuring among others Eat Static, Makyo and Shpongle theres plenty here to ease you into bliss, and the movement and reflection of this compilation makes it the ideal sonic backdrop for any bedroom, bathroom, elevator, car, office, shopping mall, restaurant.. you get the idea.
