Following on from 2001’s well-received Rewind album, Ticon are back with a dazzling record full of flair, imagination, and the guts to try something a bit different. Electricity is magnificent, mixing progressive stabs with pure psy groove and working with the melodies to create an interwoven dancefloor monster. The central vocal loop might be straight out of the Underworld book, but it blances so well with the rest of the tune I think we can forgive them! It’s catchy and it’s addictive, so much so that when it’s finished you want to hear it again. Skunk Funk is more Ticon’s regular style, a smooth and bouncy trancer that’s danceable beyond belief, with perfect build-ups and nicely balanced percussion all the way. A winner. (9/10) DB
